It’s Wednesday. Time for some random entertainment news.

I said what I said. Dear Music People: Big things are happening!

Firstly, yesterday Beyoncé dropped the name of her next album, Renaissance Act 2. According to her website and social media, it’s Cowboy Carter.

I’ve had a lot of odd ideas about what we fans can expect from her pending release. But I don’t know if I’ll have time to share them all. (One of them involved a possible collaboration with Dolly Parton. But thus far, the only thing the Queen of Country’s acknowledged is a rumored Jolene cover.)

Secondly, there’s Alan Ritchson, aka Thad Castle*, aka Reacher. (Note: I know a lot of people have only seen Ritchson playing a brooding action hero. But if you can’t imagine him doing anything else, footage of him as an obnoxious frat boy/footballer* should set you straight.)

Anyhow.

He and Arnold Schwarzenegger are set to star in a Christmas comedy. I tend to be a sucker for action movies. And to me, action-comedies are… *chef’s kiss*

Lastly, this just in: The good news is that Megan Thee Stallion is going on tour. The bad news is that—according to her Instagram post—she hasn’t announced any Canadian dates (yet).

Now, I swear, I’ve said it elsewhere—about Taylor Swift, if I recall correctly—and it bears repeating: If you’re a famous musician, don’t sleep on Canada! I don’t care what genre you play. There are people in our country who would love to spend their coins to come and see you.

I’m not quite sure what the logic is behind these acts skipping Canadian cities when they plan their tours. Is it something to do with logistics? Is it immigration? Is it the PATENTLY FALSE belief that we’re stuck in our igloos and won’t show up for our faves?

Honestly. Beyoncé was here last year. And from what I saw, the crowd did not disappoint.

So again. Come to Canada, performers! We’re here. Alive, kicking, and eager to be entertained!
